Avalon Financial Services, Ltd. (Avalon), Erie, PA, a bank consulting firm, was founded in 2000 by David H. Dye in Niles, OH, and provided various services including loan review and workout consulting.

Avalon was acquired in 2015 by W.D. Buseck & Associates, LLC (WDBA), Erie, PA, founded in 1995, of which William D. Buseck is the sole member. WDBA specializes in providing advisory services to debtors in the field of corporate renewal: viability analysis, financial structuring, crisis/turnaround management, and interim executive staffing., and had also provided consulting services, including loan review, to financial institutions regionally.

Avalon specializes in providing loan review services and has had financial institution clients in OH, PA, NY, IN, MI, and WV. We have also conducted compliance reviews, fraud reviews, and management assessments, and have provided credit analysis, loan workout consulting, and expert testimony in banking litigation. Our clients have included commercial banks, savings banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions.

William D. Buseck of Erie, PA, President of Avalon Financial Services, Ltd., established William D. Buseck & Associates, LLC, a consulting practice, in 1995. Buseck previously served in various positions in the banking industry, including Vice President & Group Manager Corporate Banking and Vice President Special Assets at PNC Bank.

Buseck received a B.A. degree from Gannon College. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association School of Banking at Bucknell University, and the American Bankers Association's Stonier Graduate School of Bank at the University of Delaware. Buseck also completed the Robert Morris Associates' Commercial Loans to Business/OMEGA Program, and holds several certificates from the American Institute of Banking.

Buseck served for many years as a member of the Board and as President (2008-2010) of the Pittsburgh Chapter of the Risk Management Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors and of the Loan Review and Executive Committees of the Regional Development Funding Corporation, Pittsburgh, PA, a non-profit corporation providing loans to western PA businesses.

Buseck is President of Mid America Business Brokers, Inc., an enterprise specializing in transitioning ownership of middle market companies. He is also a founding Director and Director of Operations/Finance of Community Capital Development Corporation, a not-for-profit, tax-exempt corporation providing financing and free technical assistance to minority and women-owned businesses in western PA.
